Coach Sarah Thorner

(Water World Swim Coach)

Water World Swim, International Division, proudly introduces to all our open water swimmers around the world, our new representative in New Zealand, Coach Sarah Thorner.

Sarah was born and bred in New Zealand and is currently based in the capital city, Wellington. Sarah was recently in San Francisco and completed her first Alcatraz crossing on 19 June and her second the following day.

Growing up in a small country surrounded by ocean played a huge part in Sarah’s love of the water and ocean swimming. Sarah played waterpolo for five years and participated in survival swimming classes from a young age.

Sarah completed her first Alcatraz crossing in 34 minutes and her second (the next day) in 1 hour and 4 minutes, giving her a greater appreciation for the strong currents in the Bay.

Sarah has recently renewed her passion for swimming and can be found in Wellington harbour every Sunday morning despite the below 10 degree winter water temperatures. She is looking forward to the summer season and organising group swims in the Wellington region. Sarah also provides beginner coaching sessions at the Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre.

Welcome, and do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have. Send an e-mail to info@waterworldswim.com or directly to Sarah at coachsarah@waterworldswim.com to inquire for more information.
