Private & Long Distance Swims

Swim with us, with flexible dates!

Water World Swim team is excited to offer private bay swims for individuals or a group of 2 swimmers who swim at a similar rate of time. These swims can be from Alcatraz  into shore or another route up to 5K.  You will have one Zodiac and a single paddle boarder or kayaker for support along the swim.

About these swims

Back by popular demand! Following the coast between Warming Hut and Aquatic Park, these are great swims to get in more distance, and experience the currents and various conditions in the Bay. We help you train for your next long swim with coaching, fueling advice, and practice in the water with safety support.

Once we have received your e-mail, we will then reach out to you to set the date and times as well as to have you register and pay via a link to our website.  These swims will start at $350 per swimmer. This fee covers you for up to 1.5 hours of time. Additional hours will be charged at $75 per hour.

Coach Jake 

Coach Jake began swimming with Pedro and Water World Swim in 2001 and never looked back! He is an accomplished age grouper triathlete in over 50 various lengths and has 6 IRONMAN under his belt. In 2010, he began coaching and became the lead kayaker for WWS in 2011, since which time he has supervised over 50 various swims.

Coach Jake has also lead swim expeditions to Cuba and the Galapagos Islands where he participated in the local triathlon and also has swam in Chile’s Pacific Ocean and lake Villarrica.

Coach Mike Lockwood

 

Coach Mike swam out of the womb.  He was a competitive swimmer for summer league, high school as a kid and has competed in the Pacific Masters swim league.  In 2007, he was introduced to open water swimming through triathlon training and completed his first Alcatraz.  He has been swimming in the San Francisco Bay and International waters ever since.

Coach Mike coached the James Logan High School Swim team from 1999 through 2019.  He has also been coaching open water swimmers in San Francisco Bay since 2010.  His high school coaching experience has given him an eye for detail when it comes to stroke correction.  His open water coaching experience has helped him to develop a sense for long distance, marathon swim training.  The San Francisco Bay has given him many opportunities to plan creative swims based on the desired goals of those he is coaching.
