The girls swim with a coach watching over them as well as kayaker who paddles alongside. They also swim in a big group with Water World Swim.

Although Mitali has just started eighth grade and Anaya has begun fifth grade, both at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley, they have big plans for their futures in open water swimming. Anaya says she hopes to swim the Around the Rock race next year and circle Alcatraz at age 11, and Mitali says her next big goal is to do an international open water swim.
