Swim along with The Wild Swimming Brothers as they cross the Strait of Messina!

From the clear blue waters to check-ins along the way, experience the swim with brothers Jack, Calum and Robbie Hudson.
As kids, they grew up outdoors visiting lakes and natural places in UK. This was the starting point for an endless love with nature and swimming, motivating people and promoting life outdoors. In 2013, Robbie swam the 7.3 mile length of Lake Ullswater in England, as part of a locally funded art project. Then, the 3 brothers were into variations of endurance swims, from sprints across Norwegian maelstroms to meanderings down peaceful Scottish Lochs.

Learn more about The Wild Swimming Brothers and how they started their journey in this video.

“We want to inspire people of all ages to take part in wild swimming. For many reasons this sport holds a special place in all three of our hearts. It has changed our lives. By swimming different rivers, ponds, lakes and seas we hope to encourage others to live more creatively and to reconnect with the natural world.”

Requirements

You must be at least 14 years of age to swim the Strait of Messina or the Bonifacio Channel. In addition, you must have an Echocardiogram (EKG) and Stress test performed by a doctor, valid within one year of your swim date. Without meeting either of these requirements, you will not be able to swim.

We highly recommend travel insurance – and not just for your stuff! Swimming in the open water can be dangerous. While we haven’t encountered any, there are jellyfish and you want to be covered in case the unexpected happens. We are not responsible for any swim or open-water related injures.

Before completing your International Application, please take a moment to review our Confidentiality & Minors policy, as well as our Required Supplemental Documents expectations. Thank you very much!
