Golden Gate to St. Francis


SEPTEMBER 2020 - Up to 50 swimmers will start the race at the Golden Gate Bridge South Tower and finish at St. Francis. A new and unique race into the bay by the Presidio.

June 13, 2020 - This 3K (approx. 1.15 mi) race begins at the ocean side of the south tower of the Golden Gate Bridge near Ft. Point Beach and goes under the Golden Gate Bridge past the north tower and finishes at Finger Point Rock. This is a rare opportunity to swim one of the most thrilling open water, world class competitions ever near a legendary historical landmark with unique currents from the Pacific Ocean and the San Francisco Bay, and over the bay's deepest point at over 340 feet! Our Alcatraz swims are incredibly popular and are a great way to make this epic crossing with a small friendly group and without the pressure of competition. Enjoy all this swim has to offer without sweating the clock, make new friends, and enjoy a casual morning out in the bay!

These crossings are recommended for swimmers who have either taken the Water World Swim Alcatraz Swim Clinic or who feel confident and have had prior experience swimming in the open water. Because of its casual nature, this is a great way to do your first Alcatraz.

It starts from the town of Nueva Toltén to Caleta La Barra in southern Chile. On the finish line, you will see the union between the river and the Pacific Ocean as a beautiful landmark.
